STEM can represent building, coding, writing and more. The core concepts of STEM are to develop logic and problem-solving skills in children.
Best Buy carries products that that range from basic early learning games to advanced toys designed to stimulate a child’s mind in the STEM areas. We just had a chance to test out the new Circuit Scribe Basic kit, and it is great.
The Circuit Scribe Basic kit is an easy way to show elementary electrical concepts to children. The kit comes with connectors, a power source and a super cool pen. With these devices, you are able to connect electrical circuits with a simple doodle. Yes, you read that correctly, the super cool pen acts as a conductor between your connectors. Think of the metal tracings left behind by the doodling pen as a really thin wire connecting all of your circuits.
Writing with the pen allows you to draw out your own circuit maps. The system comes with a resistor, a switch and bi-directional LED lights, a steel sheet to do your drawings on, the super cool doodle pen and more.
This kit allows you to make circuits as complex or as simple as you want. The key is a younger child gets knowledge and experience dealing with technology. This Circuit Scribe Basic kit is a great way to provide a foundation for learning. As you build and get more advanced with the Circuit Scribe Basic kit, there are additional sets available by Circuit Scribe. All of which look awesome. With fans, motors, blinkers and more available, once your child learns the basics, the sky is literally the limit! All of this is great for the kids, but what I found out is that I, an adult (or a big kid if you ask my wife) had a blast playing with this as well. I thought it was amazing how quickly the kids were able to pick this up and come up with new ideas.
This is a perfect gift to keep your child entertained this summer and will definitely help prevent “summer slide.” It is available at Best Buy for under $45, and it is worth every penny!
