I’m always looking for fun and creative family travel ideas and that’s why I was excited to learn about the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa’s In-Room Camping Amenity. It sounds fantastic, memorable, and fun and when the following landed in my inbox I couldn’t wait to share.
Sitting around a fire, roasting marshmallows while camping in the great outdoors is an activity that creates lasting memories for families. But what happens when mom and dad do not appreciate the dirt, bugs and everything else that comes along with these memories? Have no fear, the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa is here. Their new “Great Indoors” amenity launched this spring at the hotel and allows guests to bring the outdoors in, providing all the fun of the family camping trip, without actually having to sleep outside.
As a simple add on to a families’ stay at the hotel, the great indoors camping set includes one tent, a sleeping bag and a chair for the perfect “glamping” set up.
Best yet, the $45 cost allows guests to keep the supplies so they are ready to go should they choose to brave the elements in the future or simply recreate vacation fun at home. Additional chairs and sleeping bags can also be purchased for $15 each.
To complete the experience, Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa will also have fire pits set up around their Cove pool so kids and parents alike can relax and even roast marshmallows as if they were really in the wilderness when in actuality they are just just miles from the beautiful north county San Diego beaches.
Located in the coastal community of Carlsbad, the resort offers beautiful Contemporary Mediterranean architecture, rolling lawns and acres of flower fields, as well as close proximity to numerous activities including a private trace to Legoland. The Sheraton Carlsbad facilities include an expansive lobby, guests rooms, a full-service day spa, fitness center, 24-hour free-form heated swimming pool and a complete conference center.
