Nintendo Themed April Fool’s Pranks

Kora and Logan have hit the age where jokes and pranks are hysterical. A good one will have them talking about it and laughing the rest of the day. As a result, they are really looking forward to April Fool’s Day. I’ve been looking for some fun ways to ring in April 1st and get them laughing and when an email from Nintendo landed in my inbox filled with funny Nintendo Themed April Fool’s Pranks, I immediately added them to my list.

This list couldn’t have been a better fit for the kids. Kora & Logan love Nintendo and the Mario world so much they named our dog Yoshi after the cute little dragon in Super Mario Bros.!

Onto the Nintendo Themed April Fool’s Pranks. There are some good ones here that will get the kids laughing, it will be a funny way to welcome in April.

Nintendo’s Foolishly Fun Family Prank Guide

Mario

Idea 1:  Where Did Your Nintendo Go?

If you are a parent of a little Nintendo fan, hide your tyke’s favorite Nintendo game, Nintendo 3DS or Wii U for a priceless reaction! Or help the little ones hide Dad’s new system for tons of fun.  Video record the morning’s festivities for lots of laughter later.

Idea 2: Hide the amiibo

Similar to the Elf on the Shelf concept, parents can have fun with their children this April Fool’s Day by constructing elaborate scenes with their kids’ amiibo figures while they are asleep and recording their reactions when they wake up and find the amiibo.

Idea 3: Fun Nintendo Notifications

The day before April Fools, try changing your friend’s or family’s smartphone ring tone and notifications to Nintendo sound effects. This trick will pleasantly surprise them.

Idea 4: Transform Yourself into Your Favorite Nintendo Character

What better way to surprise a loved one than by transforming yourself into a beloved Nintendo character. Do your best to resemble Mario, Luigi or Princess Peach this April Fool’s Day but remember to stay in character for a delightful reaction from your friends and family.

About Tesa Nicolanti

I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired, a blog named after our two kids born a year apart, who my husband and I always said were too wired, leaving us too tired. :) Since 2009, I’ve shared tips on family, travel, and tech, with coffee always in hand. Now, as the kids head to college, 2 Wired 2 Tired continues as a place for family travel ideas, helpful gadgets, and insights on keeping family life fun and easy.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog originally got its name because my husband, Dave, and I had two kids born a year apart. Back then, we always joked that “the kids were too wired and we were too tired.”

Fast forward to today—those two kids are navigating college life (how did that happen so fast?!), and our house is a little quieter. But the story didn't stop there. Now that I'm a 50+ mom and an empty nester-in-training, the definition of 2 Wired 2 Tired has evolved.

Today I'm wired for new adventures, Disney magic, smart technology, and unforgettable travel experiences and I’m completely tired of bad gadgets, boring trips!

Whether you're a midlife mom looking for the ultimate 50+ Disney World guide, planning a relaxing Michigan Lake Life getaway, organizing a college dorm packing list, or just looking for a killer recipe to enjoy with a great book, you're in the right place.

The chaotic toddler years might be behind us, but the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here. Let's tackle this next exciting chapter together!
