Myrtle Beach Trip Review

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

When you are a parent, every now and then it’s good to take a trip that’s just for the two of you.

Myrtle Beach

Airfare, accommodations, meals, gift bags, and activities provided.

While Dave and I love traveling with the kids, we also like to travel as a couple too. That’s why we were excited to visit Myrtle Beach recently. We had an amazing time together and made some wonderful memories, we can’t wait to return again soon!

Our trip to Myrtle Beach was incredible and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. With blue skies, sun, sand, and the beach we had such a wonderful time that we are already checking our schedules to to figure out how soon we will be able to return!

We flew out of Cleveland on a Thursday evening. When the plane arrived the sun was just setting and we couldn’t wait to board.

Vision Airlines

Vision Airlines ReviewsOnce we arrived in Myrtle Beach we headed straight for Springmaid Beach Resort. I checked out the resort online before we left and spent many minutes watching their live streaming webcam (found under the Gallery tab in the menu bar). It’s so fun and offers a great shot of the beach and their pier. Since we’ve returned I have to confess, I’ve been stalking the webcam a bit checking on the weather and daydreaming about the beach.

The hotel is amazing. It’s located at the south end of the Grand Strand and this location makes it feel like you are on a private beach.

Springmaid Beach Resort Beach

Springmaid Beach Myrtle BeachNot only did we love the beach at this resort but we enjoyed the Springmaid Pier as well. The pier is over 1,000 feet long and is a great place for a stroll any time of the day.

Springmaid Beach Pier

Springmaid Pier Myrtle Beach

Springmaid Beach Resort ReviewsA look at Springmaid Beach Resort from the far end of the Springmaid Pier -1,000 feet away!

There’s an oversize Adirondack chair to sit in.

Springmaid Pier Big ChairAnd lots of lots of fishing.

Springmaid Pier

Springmaid Beach PierWe were there during the King Mackeral tournament and it was fun to watch the long, shiny, sparkly fish being caught.

Our room at Springmaid Beach Resort was lovely. It was a large room with two queen beds, a dining area, a full refrigerator.

Springmaid Beach Resort Room

Springmaid Beach Resort Rooms

Springmaid Beach Resort Hotel RoomWhile we loved our, room our favorite part was the balcony that overlooked the beach, the pier, and one of the pools.

Views From Our Balcony

Springmaid Beach Resort

Springmaid Beach

Springmaid Beach Resort ReviewWe were pleased with the dining options offered at the resort as well.

BarnaclesBARnacles – This restaurant by the pier has fantastic Fish Tacos & Cuban Sandwiches

Springmaid Beach MarlinsMarlins – delicious breakfast buffet with a waffle bar and an omelet station. Lunch and dinner buffets are also available.

And the pools looked amazing! With a number of pools, lazy rivers,  hot tubs and the ocean just steps away this resort is every water lovers dream.

Springmaid Beach Pools

Springmaid Beach Resort PoolsThe daily activities were fun too. One day they had volleyball, sand castle building, Minute to Win It, and more scheduled. We were so excited to hear about their Sunday night Luau too. It sounded like an unforgettable experience but since we left Sunday afternoon we didn’t get a chance to experience it. It is definitely on our list for our next visit!

We loved Springmaid Beach Resort and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Myrtle Beach. It’s a beautiful place that puts you right on the beach and has so many wonderful amenities it’s sure to be a trip you won’t forget.

While in Myrtle Beach we had some time to drive around and see the sights. We saw the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel which looks like so much fun!

Myrtle Beach Sky WheelWe went on a Dolphin Sightseeing Cruise at Express Watersports. We didn’t see any dolphins but we did see a lot of pelicans and it was a beautiful day for a boat ride so we had fun anyway.

Dolphin CruiseWe watched the sunset from the balcony of Gulf Stream Cafe. It was gorgeous.

Gulf Stream CafeWe had dinner at California Dreaming, which if you’ve never had their appetizer of a Basket of Croissants – you must! They are amazing and definitely the best croissants I’ve ever had. They were topped with honey butter and were so light, fluffy, with just a touch of sweetness I nearly ate the entire order myself!

California Dreaming Croissants

California DreamingWe loved their wraps too!

We also ate Aspen Grille where we enjoyed the Tomato Mozzarella Crostini and Oscar Mahi Mahi. The atmosphere was lovely here, very intimate and cozy, and the food was fine dining at its best and delicious. We were impressed when Dave asked the waiter for a little salt for our sauteed spinach and he brought out three different kinds!

Aspen GrilleWe went to The Carolina Opry. It was an entertaining show that offered a great mix of country and popular music renditions, dancers, and comedy routines.

Carolina Opry

Carolina Opry ReviewAt The Carolina Opry we truly enjoyed the performances by All That! a clogging/tap dancing group that came in second place on America’s Got Talent. They were our favorite part of the show. Their energy, enthusiasm, and talent were incredible!

Carolina Opry All ThatWe had a fantastic time at Myrtle Beach and we highly recommend staying at Springmaid Beach Resort.

We enjoyed the flight and the resort as well as all of the other activities and restaurants. We love that Myrtle Beach has so much to offer. It’s an amazing town that encourages you to be on the go every minute of every day while at the same time offering the chance to slow down and spend hours on the beach. Or you can do a bit a both. There really is something for everyone in Myrtle Beach and we can’t wait to go back!

What about you? Have you ever been to Myrtle Beach?

Had the opportunity (LivingSocial) to stay at the same hotel last fall. While we were obviously not able to utilize the water sports aspect of the area, there was plenty of things to see and do. We must have stayed in the same area, as our view was almost exactly the same. Glad you enjoyed your time with us in the Carolinas. Not being native to the area, I am constantly finding little “jewels” to explore.
