My Favorite Feature of the Ford Escape

A few weeks ago we had the chance to test drive for a week, the Ford Escape. It’s a spacious vehicle that offers lots of room for our family of four. It handles beautifully and is one of my favorite vehicles to drive. We enjoyed our time with the model that we drove and recommended it to others who may be car shopping.

That’s why when the opportunity arose to test drive another model of the Escape for just a few days we jumped at the chance. This model was fantastic because it had all the bells and whistles.

We thought the black color made it look very luxurious.

Ford Escape ReviewThe dual climate control was a dream. I’m always cold and Dave’s always hot so this is a must have in our next vehicle.

Ford Escape Climate ControlThe Blind Spot Monitoring System was fantastic. An orange dot lights up where the two little car icons are on the side mirror whenever another car is in your blind spot. While I still always checked to make sure no one was there, it made me less worried about changing lanes.

Ford Escape Blind SpotThe voice activated MyFord Touch and SYNC technology made it a breeze to connect our phones through Bluetooth, set the navigation directions, set climate controls, check the weather, make a phone call, and change the radio or satellite stations all with the sound of our voice.

Ford Escape SyncThe 8-inch touch screen made it easy to maneuver through the controls when we didn’t want to speak them.

Ford Escape MyTouchThe screen is so large and big that it was easy to see what was behind us thanks to the fantastic rear view camera.

Ford Escape Rear View CameraWe especially liked that the driver guidelines turned when when turned the steering wheel.

Ford Escape Rearview CameraWhile all this was wonderful, my absolute favorite feature of the 2013 Ford Escape is the Hands Free Liftgate.

Here’s a video I made showing how it works:

Isn’t that incredible? This is perfect for those grocery trips when you thought you could make it without a cart but you know you are going to lose a bag any minute. Simply kick under the bumper and drop your bags in the large trunk. I also would love this on days when I pick the kids up from school and they are handing me school projects, books, coats, backpacks, and more. Putting it all in the Escape is no problem thanks to the hands free liftgate.

We enjoyed our time with the Ford Escape and high recommend it to anyone shopping for a new vehicle. Both models were fantastic and we would be happy to have either, but this latest model with all the bells, whistles, and hands free liftgate is now at the top of our list once we are ready to go car shopping.

That would be perfect for someone without a big family. I think it would be good for someone that drives to work daily that needs to save on gas!

That really is an awesome feature! I could see that being useful when holding a little one’s hand in the parking lot with bags in the other hand , too.

I’m not that great of a driver or so I’ve been told….blah blah lol But the blind spot indicator would have to be my favorite feature. =)

I really like the extra assurance on the blind spots. No matter how many times I check, I still always worry a bit.

That’s hands-free lift is speaking my language. I hate making trips to the car to unload groceries so I purposefully load up my hands. Knowing I could open and close the Ford Escape without using my hands would really help.

Climate control! Nice! I have never had that in any of the cars I have ever owned, unfortunately. Looks like a very nice vehicle!

Love the black color it really looks nice. I really wish my GMC had the under the bumper feature, I could have really used it carrying two pumpkins by myself today. I really like Ford features, I just wish they made the Excursion still.

I love the rear view camera! I used to drive a Ford and loved it! I’ll have to check these out when I’m in the market for a car again!

Oh my gosh the trunk is fab. When I unload groceries I 90% of the time have to go back out to lock my car because I couldn’t push the button on my keys. Black does make it look beautiful and love the rear-view camera.

I’m loving the hands-free lift gate. Definitely a great feature that would come in handy when balancing a wild toddler on one hip and groceries on the other.
