Fun + Fuel Efficient = Mazda3

Recently we had an opportunity to test drive for a week, the Mazda3. We found out first hand that driving a fuel efficient car doesn’t mean that it has to be boring.

We were able to test drive the Mazda3 and found out that fuel efficient can still mean fun to drive when it comes to a Mazda3 s Grand Touring.  Every Mazda for the last couple of years seems to have mastered making a car with a great combination of a fair price and a sporty and fun ride. The Mazda3 certainly has these traits.Mazda3 Mazda 3

The car has a very sporty appearance and looks very streamlined. Inside the Mazda 3 is a very clean and very black. Everything is black with silver trim, it looks very modern. The Mazda 3 is a compact car, you have options of either a 4 door or a hatchback. Obviously this car is a bit on the small side, the back seat is comfortable for kids, but gets a little tight for adults, especially if you fall into the big and tall category.

Here are some of the things I most enjoyed about our time with the Mazda3 s Grand Touring.Mazda3 Mazda 3

Handling – I was continually impressed with how well the Mazda3 hugs the road on the turns. It seems as though you are driving on rails. My most exciting times in the Mazda3 came driving on a curvy and hilly road. There is more than enough acceleration, but the way the car handles it feels as though you are going MUCH faster than you actually are.

Fuel Economy – Our model claims to have a rating of 29 mpg city and 41 mpg highway. We consistently got over 43 on the highway and our city mpg ranged right around 29 +/-. Keep in mind, this is a fuel efficient car, when you slam on the gas, you get a good response, but you aren’t going to go drag racing in this car. It is very suitable for city driving and is very capable on the highway.Mazda3 Mazda 3

Quick – This should go along with the handling, but I wanted to touch on this again. The Mazda3 gets off the line very quickly and gives a quick rush. This isn’t a long rush as you come back down to earth, but the Mazda3 has better pickup and acceleration than most in the entry class level of the Mazda lineup.

The Mazda3 provides you with a lot of bang for your buck. The entry price of the Mazda3 starts at under $18,000 and you get a nice quality car at this price.Mazda3 Mazda 3

Go check out Mazda for yourself, take one on a test drive and you will be impressed with their combination of fuel efficiency, appearance and how they are a pleasure to drive.

What a gorgeous car! I would love to own the new Mazda 3 and I have heard that these are really well made cars and are fun to drive. I sure love this color!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
