Leftover Halloween Candy Cake Mix Cookies

Leftover Halloween Cake Mix CookiesTrick or treating was a big success. Kora and Logan received so much candy there’s no way they’ll ever eat it all.

So I decided to be a little creative and chopped up a variety of candy bars and mixed them into a cookie cake recipe. Wow! This turned out amazing and won’t last long. In fact, we are all having a harder time staying away from this than the candy!

Leftover Halloween Candy Cake Mix Cookies

Cookie Cake RecipeIngredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups left over chocolate Halloween candy, chopped
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 13X9 baking pan with cooking spray, covering bottom and sides.
  2. Combine cake mix, egg, water, butter, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Use hand mixer for 1 – 2 minutes until creamed together.
  4. Add candy and mix 1 more minute.
  5. Spread mixture into baking pan covering bottom. Spray spatula with cooking spray if it’s sticking.
  6. Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the center, when it comes out clean it’s done.
  7. Cool 10 minutes and cut into squares.
  8. Eat and enjoy!

I bought 4 bags of chocolate candy bars and didn’t have but a handful of trick or treaters once I got home. I might just have to make a cookie cake too!

Oh my, look at all that loot!! They must have had super costumes and were really sweet – well I know they are super sweet for a fact!

What great idea for you to make with some of their candy, it sounds really delicious. Too bad I don’t have any kids to go TorT for me and I am all out of the candy that I bought to hand out. I made 200 baggies and was all out by 7:40p.m.

Thanks for sharing the recipe. =)

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
