DIY Cookbook Crate: How To Organize Cookbooks

Recently, I was wondering how to organize my cookbooks. I have a lot and many have been handed down over the years and our cherished treasures. By looking over some magazines I was inspired and came up with the perfect solution.

I took an old crate and cleaned it up…

 Before

DIY Magazine RackRan to the hobby store and picked up some craft paint…

After

Southern Living StyleAnd painted the crate a beautiful speckled color.

Problem solved! Isn’t it a stylish and trendy way to display cherished cookbooks?

The next area I’m going to concentrate on is our vast family room wall that we have always filled up with a hodge podge of pictures drawn, painted or colored by our grandchildren.  I’m thinking of putting these works of arts in matting so they look tied together, without the expense of frames.

What about you? How do you store your cookbooks?

I need to do this for my books. They are all over the kitchen. I would love to have them all need and tidy!

Love this! I have a few old cookbooks that were my grandmas and this crate would be a perfect storage solution for them. Thank you!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
