Good Housekeeping Double Cell Shade from Blinds Chalet Review

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

We been working hard to remodel our house. Dave has been knocking down walls, re-building them, hanging drywall, installing cabinets, etc. While he does the heavy work, I’ve been doing my best to redecorate.

Good Housekeeping Shade ReviewsBlinds received.

That’s why when I visited Blinds Chalet and found blinds that would be perfect for our large dining room window.

We’ve always had a bit of a problem with our front window. It is big and lets a lot of light in, which doesn’t sound like a bad thing but come 3 pm and after, it feels like our dining room turns into a greenhouse. The sun sets facing our house and it just gets so warm that we can barely stand to be in the room. That makes it tough to have dinner at the table.

I was using heavy thick black out curtains to try to keep the light out and the room at a reasonable temperature. The curtains were nice but having to keep them closed in the afternoon and early evening made the house dark and dreary.

Thankfully the Good Housekeeping Shades from Blinds Chalet came to our rescue.

Good Housekeeping ShadesI love this shade because it adds such a clean look to our dining room, the color fits our decor perfectly, the style is fashionable, and it does a fantastic job of keeping the heat out while filtering the light and not darkening it.

Good Housekeeping Shade ReviewsThe shade has a number of fantastic features. One of the things I like is that it folds up and becomes nearly invisible so during the early part of the day we can enjoy the full view outside our window.

Good Housekeeping Shades ReviewsI also like that it can stop anywhere along the window which allows us to enjoy both the shade and the light as much as possible.

Good Housekeeping ShadeI love the top-down feature as well. This allows us to pull the shade down from the top so that as the sun sets we can pull it down to enjoy the last bit of light in the evening without being roasted by the heat.

Good Housekeeping Shade Double CellThe double-cell feature is the smallest of the pleat sizes in the Good Housekeeping line and allows the light to filter through but still adds privacy.

Good Housekeeping Shades ReviewHere’s a quick video showcasing the shade in action:

I love our Good Housekeeping 3/8″ Light Filtering Double Cell Shade and can’t recommend it enough to those looking for new blinds or shades for their windows. I was excited to see the reasonable prices at Blinds Chalet and can’t wait to custom order more shades for the rest of the windows in our house.

That looks really nice! We have the same problem- I love having the sun pour in but it’s 113 here today so by the afternoon it’s going to be HOT in here. I definitely need to look into getting something like that!

I have a shade that is similar just different brands. It hangs in our upstairs bath. So easy to use. Love this one as well!

That looks great. It’s very updated from using the plastic type blinds. Looks like it keeps the sun out but lets in natural light at the same time. :)

These are really nice blinds, and I agree, they fit with the decor of your home perfectly! I love the top-down feature. I have saw that at a few restaurants and always think it’s a great idea.

I had pleated shades in my last house and I loved them a lot! Mine didn’t have that handy dandy top down feature though. I like that so it can work for different times of the day and seasons of the year.

We went to a cabin this week that used shades to keep the sun out during the day in the desert. It’s amazing how well that worked.
