Easy & Fresh Garden Tomato Salsa Recipe

When we first moved into our house 10 years ago the previous owners had rose bushes planted all over the yard. They adored them and we found them beautiful. We were surprised our first winter here when one of the yellow rose bushes bloomed all the way into February. Seeing the blossoms peek through the cold & snow always made us smile. As the years have gone by we’ve moved some of the rose bushes around the yard to suit our tastes. We also converted one rose garden to a flower & vegetable garden.

This particular garden does amazingly well. Our zucchinis are gigantic, eggplants grow in abundance, and we are often overrun with tomatoes. It took us a while to figure out why this garden does so well with very little maintenance. Then one day while pulling weeds I put my hand on the brick wall it grows against and it was warm even on that cool fall day. It hit me then that the brick wall of our neighbor’s house was acting like a greenhouse. It kept the garden surrounded in warmth even in the cold, that’s why we were able to enjoy yellow roses in February and veggies throughout the summer and late fall.

With all of these veggies I’m often looking for ways to use them. That’s why I am excited to with Kraft Foods as a Tastemaker on this sponsored recipe. With picnic season here, I browsed the Kraft Recipes site to find delicious picnic recipes where I can incorporate some of our delicious fresh veggies. Layered salads are always delicious but this time I thought it would be fun to try our hand at some fresh garden tomato salsa.

This recipe was very easy to make and was ready in minutes. It was a big hit here at our house and one that we’ll be making again and again for picnics and potlucks. You can try the adapted recipe below or check it out on the Kraft Recipes site.
