Disney Social Media Moms Day 1 & Fun Run

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

We have packed the family up, hopped on a plane, and jetted off to sunny Florida. We have been counting down the days until this trip and now it’s finally here! We are here at Disney Social Media Moms Celebration where we paid our conference fee to attend and it’s been and going to be such an unforgettable trip that we are excited to share our experience!

We arrived at the Contemporary Resort and checked in bright and early. We were thrilled to see our room was ready just after 8 am. The hotel is amazing and Kora & Logan can’t get over that the monorail runs right through it. We opened the door to our room and were amazed at magnificent view!

Contemporary ResortWe’ve loved the Contemporary and it is definitely one of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort hotels. I’ll be posting a full resort review soon so keep an eye out for it.

Next I registered for the conference and was excited to meet and see again the members of the Disney Social Media Moms team. They are all so friendly and excited for everyone. I was excited to see that our name tags are so cute and the blogger lanyards are sparkly this year.

Then we were off to explore the parks. We rode the monorail right out of the middle of the hotel and headed off to Epcot for the day. I love Epcot this time of year because of the International Flower & Garden Show. It adds such dramatic and beautiful color to park all the while infusing everything with lighthearted whimsy.

EpcotWe rode some of Kora & Logan’s favorite rides including Test Track, Soarin’, and Living With The Land. We then tried to make our way around the countries but it was slow going due to the heat and afternoon sun. It was still fun though and Kora & Logan and their cousins enjoyed playing the Agent P game in Norway and we stopped for ice cream often.

Epcot GardenThat evening there was a wonderful welcome reception and family dinner at Epcot followed by an incredible Illuminations fireworks dessert party. The dinner was delicious and featured Epcot Try It! healthy living initiative. There were also fun interactive games for the kids.

DSCN6892The entertainment was fabulous too. A band played using no instruments. All of the music was made using tablets, even the guitars had tablets in them that they strummed. I’ve never seen anything like it and it sounded great, the kids thought so too and spent much of the evening dancing.

Wreck It RalphWe were also amazed by a balance performance that took place in the center of the room. I don’t know how these guys do this but it was a big hit and everyone loved it.

Disney Social Media MomsMickey did a little breakdancing and then it was off to the fireworks and dessert party which was unforgettable.

We got back to the Contemporary and everyone was exhausted but happy after such a fantastic day so we crashed early.

IMG_3180I woke up this morning at 5 am to head out for the runDisney 2 mile Fun Run at the ESPN Wide World Of Sports with Ali Vincent from the Biggest Loser.

Ali VincentI had a fantastic time on the run and although I was worried about getting up so early, once I was with the other bloggers excitement filled the air and it was great to catch up with old friends and make new ones along the way.

It’s been a great event so far and I’ll be sure to share more with you along the way. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.

Hey! I haven’t been by in a while – but just had to say how much I LOVE your new blog design! I never thought we’d be a “Disney” family… but recently Netflix picked up the Disney shows, and the kids love them! I think we might wait until they’re both the perfect age before we plan our trip there. :)

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
