Since Dave and I have been doing well sticking to our New Year’s Resolution of being healthier we’ve really been watching what we eat. I’ve been wanting to eat more naturally but it never seemed to fit into my schedule.

This blender is incredible! It makes it simple to whip up all kinds of dishes. With the push of a button I can make:

The Blendtec Designer Series WildSide Blender is not only wonderful at making a variety of different dishes but it also looks stylish and trendy sitting on our counter too.
The display above is actually a sticker (see the “Peel Here” tab?). You can remove it for an even more sleek and refined look.
With the blender plugged in and the sticker removed here’s how it looks on my counter:
Once I hit the power button it brings up an easy to read illuminated icons that coordinates with the sticker.

I was happy to see that it came with a recipe book. The book is full of all kinds of tips and advice for the best blender practices as well as wonderful recipes. As soon as I pulled it out of the box and flipped through it, I was excited to start blending!
Over the time I’ve had the Blendtec Designer Series Wildside Blender, I’ve made soups, hummus, almond milk, ice cream, and more.
It’s been a breeze to use and cleanup is so easy. Simply fill it with a cup or two of water and put in a drop or two of dish soap. Hit Pulse for 10 seconds and it’s clean.
No major scrubbing. Nothing caught in the blade. There’s no waiting on pieces or parts in the dishwasher which is wonderful because it allows me to use it often.
Since having the blender I’ve started nearly every morning with a smoothie.
Here’s a video I made to show you just how easy it is to make a smoothie with the Blendtec Designer Series WildSide. Simply push the “Smoothie” button and in just a few seconds your smoothie is ready.
I also made a delicious broccoli & cheese soup a couple of times as well. It was as simple as putting the ingredients in the blender and hitting the “Soup” button:
I also made hummus. When I’ve made hummus with other blenders because of the thickness and consistency I’ve had to use a tamper when it would get stuck. With the Blendtec Designer Series Wildside I was happy to see that this didn’t happen. I followed the recipe for the cilantro-lime hummus in the recipe book and once all of the ingredients were in the blender I pushed the “Sauces” button and in just a few seconds I had delicious hummus to enjoy with my crackers.
I have been hearing a lot lately how good homemade almond milk is and gave it a try as well.
I was pleased to find that it was very easy to make and delicious too! I am looking forward to making this often and decreasing the amount of store bough milk we buy.
I also made Strawberry Ice Cream. I couldn’t believe that simply by adding a few ingredients to the blender and pushing the “Ice Cream” button in just a few seconds I had ice cream.
It’s delicious too! I have to play a little bit with the ratio of frozen to liquids to improve the consistency but I can tell you that this ice cream was amazing. It was full of flavor, so fresh, and it made me happy to know every ingredient that what went into it. This will be a popular treat for our family on a hot summer day!
I’ve loved being able to make all of these dishes and more with this blender. It’s phenomenal and fun and it really has helped us enjoy eating healthier with ease. I am totally disappointed with this product. I was convinced by a BB&B associate to buy this item instead of the Vitamix and I am so sorry I took her advice. It does not work as advertised. I have tried to use it 3 times now and it never performs. The Wildside jar was supposed to mix all of the ingredients in but I get no results. The only thing mixed in is what is at the very bottom. It also isn’t very powerful and there is a hot or burning smell when I use it even for a few seconds. If it hadn’t been used and about 5 months since I purchased it I would have returned it. I was so confident about the purchase based on the recommendation and frankly the price (you get what you pay for, right?) that I didn’t keep the packaging. Now I am stuck with it. I’m not a moron and this blender is pretty user friendly anyway as far as the display. It just hasn’t performed for me at all. Do you think it is defective?
If it smells hot, or smells like its burning, that is probably an mechanical issue. I would call the manufacturer and ask if they repair or replace defective product, can’t hurt to ask!
Yes. It sounds like you may have a defective one. I have never experienced any of this with ours. We use it regularly and find it mixes everything very well and we’ve never had a hot/burning smell. Definitely give them a ring and see what they say. Hopefully they can help.
Yes, definitely sounds defective. But there is a 7 year warranty. The company should be able to help you out.
This looks like an amazing blender. I love using my blender to make smoothies. :)
Loooks like a good blender. I really like thhe display because there wouldnt be any guessing how long something takes.

I’ve seen some awesome reviews on this thing and really need to break down and purchase one. The first thing I would make would be some nut butters, maybe start off with cashews!

We love our Blendtec! In fact I made my daughter a smoothie this morning with it. I really love how easy it is to clean. You don’t have to tear it apart in to a bunch of pieces. It is so easy to use that even my kids use it to make smoothies. Best kitchen gadget I own!
We love our Blendtec and I know several people that have had them for years without problem. I love it for batters, soups and sauces. My pesto comes out so creamy and perfect. Just a tip, the ice cream always comes out a bit thin, just freeze it for a few minutes before serving. :)
We’ve been looking for a new blender and I think I just found the one we need! This is amazing it can do all this and I love the sleek buttons & easy clean up factor!
I need this!! I have a blender, but when I am making shakes or smoothies, alot of times I have to keep stopping. Take off the lid and use a spoon or something to push stuff down so it blends!

This was amazing to watch. If I had tried that in my (cheap) blender, I would have had to stop a dozen times to get the fruit smashed down so it would all get blended. For that reason, my old blender just never gets used. Interesting to learn about the 5th side that prevents things from clogging up. And trying to clean my old blender is a story in itself! You can never get all of the parts together right and once you think you have it all together and pour liquids in to mix, you find it leaking out of the bottom. I love the easy clean up with this Blendtec!

What an incredible machine! I have so many friends that rave about the Vitamix, but the price tag scares me off. So, I’m making due with a Ninja at the moment and dreaming of the day I can upgrade.
