What We Are Binge Watching This Winter

TVWinter is here and it’s cold and snowy here in Michigan. The perfect excuse to stay inside and binge watch all the shows we’ve missed out on. I love finding a great show and watching 3-4 episodes at a time. I can imagine that back in my college days, I would have gladly spent an entire day here and there watching an entire season of a show I really liked. I have always loved television and the movies, books too. You could say I binge read as well, reading entire books in a day once upon a time.

I’m really love a good storyline and there are a lots of action-packed edge of your seat tv shows out there. Dave and I have found ourselves watching quite a few series lately while hiding out from the cold winter weather and I thought I’d share our favorites.

Arrow

This is one of my favorite shows. We have been binge watching all 5 seasons between Netfilix and on demand. It’s grabs you from the start and has you watching one episode after the next. Season 1 was my favorite and season 3 has a bit of drag but it’s worth wading through. There’s action in every episode and after so many season you get to know the characters so well you can’t wait for season 6 to come out.

Flash

Flash starts out with a bang and we were immediately hooked. We loved the storyline and found it intriguing and thought-provoking as well as just plain superhero fun. There is a lot more attempt at relationship building between characters in Flash vs Arrow, almost with a soap opera-y feel. I found those parts a big draggy, but love the rest so much it’s worth sitting through. As the seasons go on, the plots twist and turn and could be confusing if you miss an episode, but it’s delivered in such a way that you can actually understand surprisingly easily.

Narcos

This one at first took a bit to get into, but it wasn’t long before we had to watch the next episode because we were so intrigued. It’s based on Pablo Escobar and it was hard to believe that so many of the events in the series actually happened in real life. We are waiting on pins and needles for the next season to come out.

Stranger Things

If you are looking for an edge of your seat, what happens next type show – Stranger Things fits the bill. It’s got a sci-fi bent to it and a few parts that had me covering my eyes, but I loved it. Every time one show ended I said to Dave, “Let’s watch one more” and that went on and on throughout the season. We watched it all in just a few days by staying up extra late, excited to see what would happen next.

Those are the shows we’ve been binge watching this winter. We’ve enjoyed watching them and are always looking for more recommendations so please feel free to share your favorites in the comments below.

What about you? What are your favorite shows you’ve binge watched lately or are watching now?

We also enjoyed Narcos. We just finished Peaky Blinders and liked it….are big fans of Vikings and we both think Breaking Bad is the #1 binge watch. Thanks for the recommendations.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)
