Help Fight Malaria & Have Fun With Seriously Best Fiends

This week I’m excited to share with you another edition of App of the Week. It’s been fun working on this series weekly and it’s given us a chance to showcase some really wonderful apps.
Best Fiends

This is a sponsored post.

That’s why I’m excited about Seriously Best Fiends.

I love a great mobile game and when I heard that Seriously Digital Entertainment is serious about doing good, I couldn’t wait to download it.

Best Fiends Seriously Doing Good They have teamed up with Malaria No More and in the game Edward, the mosquito, has made it his mission to undo the damage done by mosquito kind.

Best Fiends Leveling Up Against Malaria

During the game he offers information and asks for your support. When you donate to Malaria No More through the game every dollar provides a life saving malaria test and treatment for a child in Africa.

Best Fiends Learn & ActAlso while playing Best Fiends, a photo of this shirt popped up featuring Edward. If you sign up for updates on the malaria fight, you’ll be entered to win this shirt. Every entry provides a full course of treatment for a child with malaria as a part of Malaria No More’s Power of One campaign.

Best Fiends ShirtWhat a great way to build awareness!

Now onto the game.

Best Fiends is fun and free to download. It is a line matching puzzle game with RPG like character development. Right away I was impressed by the graphics, they drew me right in.

Best Fiends GameThe story line is great too. All of the creatures of the land, Minutae, lived in harmony until a meteor smashed into Mount Boom. This transformed the slugs that lived there and now they are munching a path through the land, sliming everything they see, and attempting to take over the world. The Best Fiends are on a mission to save their parents and fight back against the slugs.

Best Fiends Slugs

Your goal in Best Fiends is to move along the path through Minutae stopping at each slug slimed spot to play a line puzzle. If you win, you free the area from slugs and move on to the next spot.

Best Fiends MapThe Best Fiends are there to help you, looking fiendishly cute along the way.

Best Fiends HowieAs you would expect, each level gets more and more challenging. Here’s a look at an early level.

Best Fiends Line PuzzleThe object of each line puzzle is to draw a line with your finger connecting as many like items as possible with each move. So in the example above. Right away I see that I would touch the apple on the far left side and trace a zig zag line connecting each apple all the way across the board. Once you lift your finger the apples disappear and the other items fall down taking their place and new items fall in from the top.

As you can see the further you go the more Best Fiends you have on your team and the levels become more and more challenging.

Best Fiends App Review

Best Fiends Goals

Best Fiends Line Puzzle AppThere is also a point where you earn keys to unlock boxes revealing diamonds, little yellow Meteor Mites, and more which help you level up your Best Fiends.

Best Fiends BoxesThis is a very fun and challenging game that gets you thinking especially the further along you go. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the forced pauses. Every now and then this screen would pop up:

Best Fiends Energy ShopThen you either have to use the resources you have, pay real money through in app purchases to buy more, or wait until the time runs out.

I realize this is a way for the company to make money but since I played most often at night before bed, when this screen popped up I just put the phone down and went to sleep disappointed. I would have rather played long into the night and fallen asleep satisfied when I beat a challenging level, thinking about how I could fit more time to play tomorrow.

But this is a small thing and I know a common tactic these days. The good news is it doesn’t take away anything from the game.

What I did love was the Fiend Of Fortune.

Best Fiends Fiend of FortuneEvery now and then you get a chance to spin this wheel, or rather the cute little fiend spins the wheel for you. Before he spins, you have to watch a 30 sec or so ad about other apps. I didn’t mind and I learned a lot about other apps watching the ads. Once the ad is over, the little fiend spins the wheel and it’s fun to see what you win. I look forward to spinning this wheel whenever it was available.

I have had a lot of fun playing Seriously Best Fiends and recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging line puzzle game with a great storyline, impressive graphics, and fiendishly cute teammates. It’s a game with a good heart and great play.

By the way…I’m on level 25, download it now and see if you can beat me!

Seriously Best Fiends is free to download in the App Store & in the Google Play Store.

I love these app features! Great way to discover new fun games! I love games that offer awareness and help out in the world like this one by providing malaria tests and treatment for a child in Africa. How cool is that! This is a game i can play nonstop, and my kids would also love it.

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
