A Quick, Sporty, & Fun Hybrid – The Lexus CT 200h

We had the chance to test drive for a week, the Lexus CT 200h. I am a huge Lexus fan.  I love the look, driving style and feel and the acceleration. You generally get a luxury car with tons of bells and whistles for a fair price compared to the competition. Often the Lexus brand will come it at a bit of a bargain compared to its competitors. So when we have an opportunity to review one, we jump all over it.2016 Lexus CT 200h

We recently had an opportunity to drive the Lexus CT 200h for a week. Now the CT 200h is not your classic Lexus, it is a luxury hatchback, initially it seems like an odd fit, but it turned out to be quite an experience.

First off, you may notice the “h” in the name, this is another Lexus hybrid in the growing hybrid line – which is awesome, we have checked out the RX in the past and loved it, so I was intrigued about how high Lexus could bump the MPG to in a smaller vehicle.

At first look, the Lexus CT 200h has a very distinctive appearance. It is a very sporty looking hatchback. The CT seems like an odd choice for Lexus, but they pull it off with the same unique character and style you expect from the Lexus brand.2016 Lexus CT 200h

When you hop inside the CT 200h, you are immediately reminded this is a premium car. The plush 2 tone leather stands out with the strong contrasting colors. The leather throughout the luxurious leather wraps around the car with the stitching that really stands out. One of the first things you notice on the interior is their display screen. The 7 inch touch screen stands straight up on top of the dashboard and can be controlled with the mouse-like remote touch controller, which is nice and easy to use.2016 Lexus CT 200h

Driving – the CT 200h feels like a fun drive. You are low to the ground and the suspension makes it feel like you are in a sportier car. What is baffling about the CT is that it really isn’t a fast car – in all reality it is on the slower side compared to its competition and let’s just say the hatchback isn’t filled with a bunch of speedsters. This is where the beauty of what Lexus did stands out, even though it is a bit slow, driving is still exciting. The turns are fun, the handling is above average and it does not feel like the CT is moving slow.

Now the great part about how the CT drives is that the mileage is incredible. Lexus advertises it at 42 MPG combined. I flirted with 42 most of the time.  My overall for my week was 40 MPG which is pretty darn good since I was pushing the CT to its limits at some points.2016 Lexus CT 200h

I see the CT 200h as a perfect car for a young professional or as the 2nd car for a family. This is a hatchback with minimal storage space, and the backseat is a little tight. I didn’t sit in the back, but it looks a little snug and having the kids in the backseat (10 & 9) they had a difficult time sliding across the back with their backpacks to hop out to go to school.2016 Lexus CT 200h

Regardless of what you would use your CT for, I am certain you will have fun driving this Lexus hybrid.

This Lexus is luxurious and I love the color of the seats and it is a very well made car! I bet you had fun driving, and it really does not look like it is a hatchback. Love the color!

I love the look of these SUVs. They are a nice midsized vehicle and look so classy, I have seen quite a few running around town and have admired them. Sounds like a beauty to drive too.

I like Lexus cars and this hybrid would be great for running to the grocery store.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
