An Economical & Fun Family Ride – Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Review

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

I love driving a sharp looking car, there is something about it where you just feel good while behind the wheel. We just had an opportunity to test drive for a week, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, and it is a sharp looking car.

This small crossover SUV is one of the most popular cars in the Mitsubishi lineup and the Outlander Sport certainly looks the part of a fun and popular car, take a look at our Outlander Sport review.

The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a very distinctive looking car, I love the front grill and the lines on the hood, and this is a striking car.

The Outlander Sport shares the Outlander name with its bigger brother, but the Sport version is a smaller and more economical version which is made for the city. The Sport lacks the “ruggedness” and 3rd row of the Outlander, but makes up for what it’s missing with a great price.

The base price of the Outlander Sport starts out at under 20k and the loaded version gets up into the upper 20’s.

The interior of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport comes off as very clean looking and impressive. Upon sitting inside and looking around, you get a chance to admire the interior. The interior of the Outlander Sport is simple, but yet comfortable. This is an economy car, but the inside feels good and comfortable, even though it is a bit cozy.

When it comes to driving the Outlander Sport, you notice that there is some room for improvement in the acceleration category. The straight ahead speed of the Outlander leaves you wanting, it gets up to the 70 – 80 range and handles fine when there, but it is lacking a bit when there is a need to accelerate to get around something.

Overall as a family car, the Outlander Sport grades out pretty well, it ranks high in the safety categories, and there is plenty of room in the backseat for kids, and adults will think there is plenty of room as well. I really like the storage in the back, and the seats fold up to provide plenty of additional storage for moving items. Obviously, the storage is not as roomy as a full size SUV, but there is plenty of room.

We also really enjoyed the size and clarity of the screen in the Outlander Sport. At over 6” the picture is great and the huge panoramic glass roof, which was a major hit with everyone in the family, and great for road trips.

Another great aspect of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is the gas mileage, it boasts good numbers for a small SUV. Coming in a 25/32 mpg is pretty impressive, we took ours on a small road trip and the highway miles came in exactly at 32 mpg, so this will make for many happy consumers.

This car is a good option for the family looking for an economical and fun mall SUV. If you are in the market, you can definitely get some additional bang for the buck by adding the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport to your family.

Years ago I used to own a Mitsubishi Mirage and always wanted one of their SUV’s they had at the time, Montero I think it was called. My husband has been wanting an SUV and likes the sporty look, I like the fact that it has the look of an SUV but is a bit smaller, I usually don’t like driving big vehicles so this actually looks like it would work great. Thanks for the review!

Thats really a nice looking crossover SUV. I also really like the rooftop that would be such a nice thing. I have seen a few of these aaround town and really thought they look sharp.
