Nectar Mattress received for review
Our daughter Kora dearly needed a new mattress and when we received the opportunity to review a Nectar Sleep Mattress, I did some research into and immediately knew it would be a wonderful mattress. We’ve had the mattress for a few weeks now.

It’s So Comfortable!
The Nectar Sleep Mattress is incredibly comfortable! So much so Dave and I are considering getting one for us. It says on their website that this mattress is comfortable whether you sleep on your front, back, or side and we have to agree.
Some of the reasons that it is so comfy include:
- 5 different layers (see below) which add to the comfort level making sure you are not only cozy but also not hot
- It’s firmness level is described as medium firm which allows it’s layers and materials to both contour and support your body
- It’s 11″ thick – no other rolled and compressed mattress has the same level of thickness

The site says it also gives you the support of a firm mattress while pampering you with the comfort of a pillow top. We found this to be true. Dave likes a firm mattress and he said when he laid on this he didn’t want to get up! He said it definitely has the firmness he loves in a mattress but it feels cozy and comfortable too. I, on the other hand, love a soft cozy mattress and found this to meet my requirements as well.
Kora said she felt like she was sleeping on a cloud!
She is so excited to have this new mattress in her newly remodeled room. She helped peel off the old wallpaper, picked out the new paint color, and even helped paint. The new mattress makes her room complete and now she is all smiles and looks forward to a good night’s rest every night.
Convenient Delivery and Easy (& Fun!) Set Up
The Nectar Mattress has free shipping and is delivered right to your door. We were impressed that it comes in a protective cover that with handles that make it easy to maneuver up stairs and around corners.
Unlike the boxes that other online mattresses come delivered in, the protective cover can be used to move, carry, or store something else which makes made me happy. I never like throwing out all that packaging.
Once you have it out of the protective cover, open the small bag that says, “Open Me First.” Inside you’ll find a letter opener which slides right through the plastic wrap and then watch in amazement as the mattress expands to it’s regular size.

I love that on their site they say that if you do buy another mattress from them, they want it to be for all the other rooms in your house.
They even say that in the case of the mattress compressing and forming impressions, if the impressions are 1.5″ or more they will replace the mattress.

By removing the middlemen such as distributors and mattress retailers, and by selling direct to the costumer, they can sell the Nectar mattress at basically wholesale pricing.
Tencel Cooling Cover & Quilted Gel Memory Foam
One of the five mattress layers includes the top layer – the Tencel Cooling Cover. This cover is removable and is custom milled , quilted and embroidered, woven and prepared with a healthy aloe based cooling layer to assist air wicking. It also helps draw away heat and circulate fresh air every time you move. We all know how hot memory foam mattresses can be, but this cooling cover helps with that making sure you always have the perfect temperature to sleep.
It’s bedbug resistant too – which makes me now think, why aren’t all mattresses?
The second level from the top of the mattress is Quilted Gel Memory Foam. According to Nectar, most mattresses companies avoid quilting because of cost. On top of that this layer of gel quilted memory foam provides extra loft and comfort and works to keep you cool. It also offers better breathability for a good night’s sleep.
Gel Memory Foam & Adaptive Hi Core Memory Foam
So much comfy memory foam in this mattress! Layer three is Gel Memory Foam. This is a semi-open Lush Foam which holds five patents and is the most premium gel foam available. It is pricey and usually reserved for medical uses, it directly absorbs and distributes heat and it recovers perfectly to it’s previous untouched state.
Layer four is Adaptive Hi Core Memory Foam which supports your body and provides rebound and bounce. Nectar is the only direct to consumer bed company that provides this foam in their mattress. The foam is heavy and expensive to ship but Nectar feels it is the best solution for contouring a mattress to your pressure points.
Breathable Base Layer
The bottom level is a Breathable Base Layer that reinforces the contouring and support layers which gives a stable and breathable foundation. Nectar has the densest and most breathable base layer of any mattress. It draws in fresh air through specialty molded channels. Don’t Forget The Pillows!

There is and inner pillow that offers support and the outer pillow is soft and cushy.
The pillows come overstuffed so that you can decide just how firm or soft you want them. If you decide they are too firm simply remove stuffing until it is just right. They recommend you save the extra stuffing in case you decide to add it in later.

As someone who has a partner that works different shifts, I absolutely love the no motion transfer it is known for. With the mattress i have now, I am woken up countless times when he comes to bed, when the dogs jump on the bed, and anytime my kid comes over to crawl into bed.

Okay, so I’ve been amazed at the mattresses that are delivered to your home like this! The gel memory has to be heavenly! It’s been almost 7 years since we got our mattress but nothing beats that new, plush feel of a new bed! Can you imagine…school’s out for the summer, you crawl into your new bed and just stay there for days! This teacher deserves a plushy binge watching sesh!!!!
