I love the outdoors. When I’m not behind my laptop blogging, you can often find me outside with the kids. I would spend all day, every day outside if the weather was nice. The problem is we live in Michigan. While we have had some beautiful weather this summer, boiling hot day time temps, chilly evenings, and mosquitoes often chase us inside.

That’s why I was excited to be sent items for review from White Sierra. It’s an quality outdoor apparel company that’s been family owned and operated since 1979. They make clothing for the whole family. When you hear “outdoor clothing” you may think mountain climbing, whitewater rafting, etc. but White Sierra makes outdoor apparel that is perfect for family day hikes, playing in the park, and hanging out by the lake. They make everyday clothes for people who enjoy being outdoors – like me!
When I heard all this I couldn’t wait to browse their catalog. Once I started browsing I wanted to add it all to my shopping cart! The women’s lines are stylish, trendy, and colorful and they have practical elements about them that I appreciate as well.
Right off the bat the White Sierra Shiva Tee caught my eye. It reminded me a bit of a yoga top and I love the ornate design. It comes in three beautiful colors: Hibiscus, Emerald Island, and Horizon Blue. I chose Hibiscus and was also happy to read that the fabric is made with a wicking property which is perfect for those long hot summer days.
When it arrived, I was excited to see how beautiful it is. The design is gorgeous, subtle but very pretty. The color is a lovely red that I adore.
As you can see it fits perfectly and I’m pleased that the fabric is lightweight and it’s wicking property keeps me cool. I also like that it is extremely comfortable. The top gets a lot of compliments and I can wear it to the lake, to the park, or even out to dinner.
I also was eyeing up the White Sierra Bug Free Zip Hoodie. As I mentioned above our Michigan evenings can get chilly and during our warm days outdoors we often spend a lot of time fighting off mosquitos. That’s why as soon as I saw that this hoodie comes with Insect Shield Repellent Technology I was excited to put it on and test it out.
Aside from being super cute and in a color that I love, Sail Blue, it not only has the Insect Shield but the fabric of this hoodie also has wicking properties. It’s lightweight too and on top of all that it offers UPF Sun Protection. That’s a lot of fantastic features packed into one adorable hoodie!
I’ve worn this hoodie quite often over the past couple of weeks and I love how it fits. It’s stylish and the color is one of my favorites. True to its description, I’ve found this hoodie to be very lightweight and along with the wicking property in the fabric, I’ve found that I can pull it on during the day when the mosquitoes and sun’s rays are bad without overheating. I also can wear it into the chilly evening and it does a fantastic job of keeping me warm.
I absolutely love both of these items from White Sierra and recommend them to anyone looking for stylish, trendy, and high quality tops and hoodies. I love what you chose. The top is adorable and has a great color too. But that hoodie is the bomb! I have lupus so finding clothing with SPF protection is great, but to also help repel bugs? That is really awesome. This has been an especially bad year here in NC for mosquitoes and they seem to get me within minutes of venturing outdoors. So much better than slathering chemicals all over your skin.
