Don’t Miss These Fun Math Apps For Kids

Fun Math Apps For KidsAre you looking for ways to encourage your kids to improve their math skills? There are some kids out there who love math, like Logan. Math is his favorite subject and he loves learning his multiplication tables and doing math puzzles. Then there are other kids who don’t enjoy it as much, like Kora. She is good at math but doesn’t find it as exciting as Logan. That’s why I’ve done a lot of searching for some of the best and most fun math apps for kids.

These apps are interactive, exciting, creative, and so much fun that both Kora & Logan are asking if they can play them all the time. With the math skills they are learning in these apps I’m happy to let them and to share them with you.

Motion Math Cupcake

Motion Math Cupcake

In Motion Math Cupcake kids run a cupcake bakery and delivery business where they create cupcakes, name them, and sell them. They decide who to buy ingredients from (who has the best prices) and how they want to make, sell, and price cupcakes to meet customer demands (customers have different preferences). They learn how to total the customers sales (they ask for cupcakes using addition, multiplication, and word problems), how to use coordinates when they make their deliveries, and how to grow their business (saving up to buy signs and other bakery upgrades).

Motion Math Pizza

Motion Math PizzaMotion Math Pizza is by the same group and it is similar to Cupcake but it is a pizzeria and there is no delivery service. Just like in Cupcake, kids make and name their own pizzas and sell them. Along the way they learn economics, vendor analysis (who has the best prices for ingredients), inventory management (how to keep their in demand ingredients in stock), pricing (what price makes a profit but still sells), and working the cash register (using addition and multiplication to total customers orders).

Mystery Math Town

Mystery Math TownIn Mystery Math Town all of the fireflies in town have been caught and put into jars. Kids travel around the town completing math problems to unlock rooms and passages freeing the fireflies along the way. They also collect coins to earn talking portraits. You can create multiple accounts on this app, kids can easily personalize their avatars, and parents can set customizable math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and varied number representation for each player. This app also encourages kids to develop math though by building equations, not just tapping answers.

Tower Math

Tower MathIn Tower Math, numbers have been turned into monsters by an evil wizard. As kids solve math problems they build towers with magic powers that can free the numbers.  They can also use math to earn special skills like a Freeze Ray and Magic Rain. There is even a notepad in the app that kids can pull up to write on to help them solve the problems (great for long division etc.).  Kids can earn bronze, silver, and gold medals for each level. Multiple player profiles can be created on this app as well.

Motion Math Wings

Motion Math WingsYep, I’m recommending yet another Motion Math app – this group really knows how to make math apps that are educational and so much fun! In Motion Math Wings, kids help a bird fly across islands and build a nest. Kids tilt their devices to get the bird to solve multiplication problems by flying into the bigger numbers. The problems are shown in six different forms which makes the game friendly for all skill levels. Along the way kids will win feathers to customize their bird and twigs for its nest.

Hi Tesa ( sorry I can’t find the accent),

These apps look absolutely cute. I have a five year old and he has some great apps especially for spelling but I have been searching for a great math app and i really like your suggestions. The pizza and the cupcake apps are brilliant. I’ll be heading right over to the google play store now to look for them. Thanks a lot!

This looks good for a wide age range – will give it a try with my kids. Thanks!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
